Oops, sorry, I thought it was a common abbreviation :( It's True Metal Metallic, if I'm not mistaking,  it's when one uses several shades of metallic paint to create the vision that something is made of actual metal.

I'm sure that it is in figure painting circles but I'm hopeless with any kind of jargon and have painted no more than three figures in the last 20 years! I asked Jim and he said that all his metalics are NMM. In this case a bit of SE-NMM combined with OSL (and I've no idea what that means either!). :-)

I sure know what is NMM, it's when you use non-metal paints to create metallic effect ^^
Actually, I'm not very much acquainted with all that painters' slang either - just picked up a couple of words from my boyfriend. He has been painting for three years, and I've just only begun figuring out how they even do it. :D
Nevertheless, I wish you great luck and success in all your endeavors! :)

Wow, that metallic effect is amazing! Did he use NMM or metallic paints? The dragon looks like he's really made of silver!

Jim said that all his metallics are NMM. In this particular case a bit of SE-NMM combined with OSL. I've no idea what that means but I hope it makes sense to you! :-)
